This celtic harp has a quality and tone rarely heard before. Its voice is clear, silvery and ringing at the top; warm and resonant in the middle octaves; with powerful projection and sustain in the bass. Due to the implementation of a fully-developed harmonic curve in the neck, which gives full and progressive tension to the light clarsach gauge strings, the Blondel has a very even and responsive feel, allowing the freedom to play at any speed, in any style. The volume of sound that this instrument produces must be experienced to be believed; this extraordinary dynamic range means that even a beginner can easily produce a large sound without straining themselves.
Uncompromising quality
The Blondel lever harp has 34 strings spanning 6C to 1A, with string gauge, spacing and tension identical to the concert harp. The neck and pillar are made from cross laminated Canadian hard-rock maple, the body is finished with a complimentary exotic veneer; with hand-picked premiere quality quarter sawn sitka spruce for the soundboard. It stands 1.3 metres at its tallest point. The whole instrument has a satin lacquer finish. Every harp comes complete with tuning key and dust cover.
Perfect semi-tones
All harps produced by Niebisch and Tree feature our unique semi-tone mechanism, which is free from all possibility of rattle and yet fully and easily adjustable. The semi-tone levers are made entirely of alloy steel, cast gun metal and stainless steel (this is to ensure no loss of tone and longevity of the mechanism). The string contact point is hand polished to ensure minimal string wear. With an easy to use single finger flip-action and a positive ‘on’ position which means no unnecessary fumbling and perfect semi-tones every time.
